Football Link Up!

Lindsey at Running Down a Dream is doing a football link up today. Who is your favorite college or Pro football team? How did you become a fan?
Well, I think we all know that I am a HUGE Alabama football fan. I have always been an Alabama football fan. Do I know everything about the game? Absolutely not. But I know more than the average girl. SEC Football is a whole different ballgame. It’s a way of life here in the South. Don’t try to get married or plan any events during football season, most people won’t even show up.
The first game I went to as a student at the University of Alabama was Southern Miss. It was at Legion Field in Birmingham and I can remember riding the bus with the guy I went with and we missed kick off.
Philly is a crazy fan. I have accused him (which he does NOT like, btw) of loving his Crimson Tide more than me. Most of his closet is crimson with some gray thrown in. He never balks at buying something that can be worn during football season. I also think that his mood and attitude revolves around whether or not Alabama is having a good football season or not.
In 2009, at the beginning of the football season, John proclaimed that if Alabama went to the National Title Game, he was shaving his head.
Hello Blonde Hairs.
I have been to 2 SEC Championship games, 1 BCS National Title game, and more home games than I can count. I was there when Prothro made the greatest catch ever.
I have seen some of the greatest games and some of the worst. I have been to Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. Jordan-Hare in Auburn. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena.  At the end of this football season, I will add The Swamp to that list (Florida) Beaver Stadium( Penn State) to that list. My goal is to see a game in every SEC stadium.
We love tailgating, and come Football season, you will see tailgating fashion posts.
I have no idea where all my pictures of our tailgating set up went, but be on the look out because it’s nothing short of amazing. I just wish that some of my best friends and I cheered for the same team. Because let’s face it, Jana and Rebecca- we would be O.O.C (out of control).
Now.. let’s help Lindsey pick a college football team, because she totally needs to be a Tide fan. We will welcome you with open arms, Linds!

Haha I love the last part :) I love that picture if y'all with you wearing the red coat!

    Thanks for linking up :)

  • Mandy says:

I love this post!!! I also love the Crimson Tide even though I'm from Ohio. It's my goal to get to a Bama game this school year while I can still crash at my sorority house down there!

  • Neely says:

WAIT!!! You like Alabama football!?!? how did I not know this about you?? :) I love your blonde hair so cute!

  • meghan says:

Roll Tide!! I love Alabama football too! I did my post on it today. My sister was on her swimming recruiting trip for the game that Tyrone Prothro made that catch. She said it was the most exciting thing she's ever seen. Here's to a heckuva year! Did you hear ESPN saying that Alabama is currently favored to beat any team on a neutral field?

  • Natalie says:

I think Neely has been living under a rock if she didn't know you were obsessed with Alabama. Seriously.

SEC isn't just a sport. It's a way of life. I hate to say that even though I'm a born & bred Southern belle, I don't have a team- per se. Living in TN, the closer you get to Knoxville, the more obnoxious the fans get. And honestly? Who wants to cheer for a team whose color is a NASTY orange? NO ONE looks good in Orange.

I'm tempted to be a Bama girl simply b/c I love houndstooth.
My family has always been Arkansas fans, but no one is a super fan so they just sort of cheer for who ever is on.

Did you know I got married on the UT/Bama game? The only way I got many of the men in my family & the wedding party to stop the bitching was to promise there would be a big screen tv playing the game at the reception.

  • Kate says:

I will be at the Alabama/Penn State game!! It's our White House game so everything will be white…better wear lots of Crimson. I'll be able to spot you in a minute. :)

  • Katie says:

As a Texan living in Boston, I have to proudly say hook 'em! :) Love my Longhorns and am looking into moving the Boston boy to Texas for a bit for grad school so he can see firsthand just how fabulous football in Texas can be when you're up close and personal with it. We shall see… I'm all about the dressing up for games and tailgating, so I can't wait to see what your set-ups look like this year!

  • Carly says:

Roll Tide! I did my post on Bama this morning! Can't wait for football season :)

  • Kerbi says:

Okay, so I will cheer for Bama for one reason only. A few years ago my family took a cruise for Christmas. We went on the Jamaican Rum Tour and there was this guy, prob in his fifties with his wife and friends. Halfway through the tour, he got wasted and passed out on the lawn. His wife left him until the tour was over. On the way back to the ship he would wake up every time our bus hit a bump and the only thing out of his mouth the whole 45 min ride back was "Roll Tide" and then he would pass out again! So I will cheer for Bama because it reminds me of this little memory! Ha!

  • Kendra says:

First off I love your hair it is adorable. I can't say I am overly excited about your choice ;) Seeing as I am a OSU fan!

  • MJ says:

I'm a huge football fan!! I'm definitely linking up with her today :) Can't wait to see some of those cute outfit tailgating posts soon…

  • Rebecca Laney says:

It, no lie, really saddens me when I think about all the fun we could have together during football season if we just rooted for the same team. I think out of control comes close to summing it up… We would be unstoppable! And it would be so much fun. However, I know we come from different sides of the track and said fun will never happen. I love you anyway and I hope you can manage to have fun without Jana and I's awesomeness :)

  • Amber says:

Look at that blondie! :) Red is natural right? Cute pics girl :)

  • That Pink Girl says:

Oh, I'm so ready for college football!
