Racing this weekend?

Yes, people generally taper for races, but I don’t think they drop completely off. Will it really make a difference that I didn’t run at all last week. Nope. Did my hip really need the time off? You bet. Was I sick? Yep. Stupid colds. The main thing I think that NOT running does, is plays with you mentally. Your body is ready, if you have trained. But your mind… that’s what gets you across the finish line. There comes a time in any race, when you think to yourself, “Why did I think this was a good idea?”.

I don’t think it has really sunk in that I am racing another half marathon this weekend. I said I was done for 2012 back in April, and I meant it then. But, there is just something about this race that I have to beat.

My outfit isn’t complete, but everything is ordered. I’m pretty pumped about it… you guys know how I am about a racing day outfit.

Now, I just need my playlist. I need help. What are your favorite running songs??

  1. No playlist is complete without “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy”

  2. I am LOVING Porter Robinson “Language” right now. It gets me so hyped!! Also David Guetta “Falling to Pieces (She Wolf)”. If you want something hard core go with “Holdin’ On” – Monsta (Skrillex & Nero Remix). It makes me want to either A) run really fast or B) break things. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoy my angry songs every once in a while :)

    Good luck, you’ll rock it!

  3. Top 3 Running Songs Right Now:

Titanium — David Guetta ft. Sia
Shark in the Water — VV Brown
Break Your Heart — Demi Levato

You are going to kill this half!! GO girl!

  4. Ruffneck (Full Flex) and Breakn’ a Sweat by Skrillex

Lighters (feat. Bruno Mars) Hell: The Sequel (you have to look it up very specifically to get it, Eminem on it too)

Irresistible Force by Two SKinny J’s

That’s all I have time for now. Have a great race!

  5. This was the best thing you could have done though. You needed the time off for your hip and your sickness. It would have been worse for you to run. I can’t wait to see your outfit! You have the best race day looks. I can’t wait to hear about how it goes. You’re so much more prepared than you’re giving yourself credit for. You’re going to do great.
