Day 1– Hood to Coast

I must apologize in advance… there is going to be a lot of posts on this.

Wednesday, I headed out to the West Coast to run Hood to Coast with Nuun Hydration. I left out of Birmingham REALLY early.. so early, I caught the sunrise on the tarmac.

I had a small layover in Houston and then I began my 4 1/2 hour flight to Seattle…. where I got the most spectacular view of Mt Rainier. IMG_3848.JPG

Several teammates were already in town and still trickling in, so we all decided to grab some lunch and head to Pike Place Market. Never having been to Seattle, I had to hit up all touristy stops:

The very first Starbucks…. Yes, I had to wait in line, and no it didn’t really taste any different than normal Starbucks. IMG_3860.JPG

Our first team building activity was sticking our gum on the gum wall… I can’t remember who has the group shot of this, but I accidentally touched someone’s old gum. DISGUSTING.

After that, we headed back to the hotel and got ready to hit up The Seattle Sounders soccer game. This was my first MLS game and I gotta say, my SEC loving self, did NOT enjoy the lack of scoring. But, the atmosphere was amazing and I was super jazzed to be inside the Seahawks stadium. IMG_3874.JPG

People were still trickling in at that point and some were eating in the hotel bar, so being the gracious teammates we were, we stopped and had a drink with them…. and then George bought a round of Fireball Whiskey shots, and I got a little nervous about things… but since I had been up for about 21 hours, I headed straight to bed!

Van Deuce’s 1st pic!

There is more to come, you guys…. Stay tuned!

  1. That shot of Mount Rainier is absolutely amazing! I’ve always wanted to visit Pike Place Market. It looks like such a cool place.
